Russians are planting wheat and peas in space


Russian scientist revealed about the success of Russian astronauts in the cultivation of many agricultural crops of superior quality on board the International Space Station , including peas , wheat and some vegetables and fruits , according to the news agency " Novosti " .

Announced scientist Margarita Avenskyk intention Russian scientists grow more next year , including rice , tomatoes , after the completion of the Arboretum "Lada " on the International Space Station , which is the result of a collaboration with the Institute of Space at the University of Utah, U.S. , during a news conference in Moscow.

The researchers are currently working on an analysis of the Russian roots of these plants to ensure their safety and not formed any risk to human health .
